Directors' Message

Back in 19th century, India was rich, Indians were poor, but now its vise versa. One of the things that make the biotech industry unique is the significant amount of money that businesses will need to develop a product. While internet or software companies can commercialise a product through bootstrapping or after just one round of seed funding, a biotech firm will typically need three, four, or even more rounds of fundraising.
On an average, it costs between $25 million to $100 million to develop new medical diagnostics and devices, and more than $1 billion to take new drugs from the laboratory through regulatory approval to sales.
There’s no short-cut for success. If we have the determination to achieve it nothing is impossible. So we in Dextrose try to provide end to end support to students, professionals and organisations to reach their aspirations in professional advancement and create an environment to revive the pride of India in health wealth and prosperity.

Food and Agri Tech Research

Globalization has created new demands in the Food and Agriculture sector, especially storage and transportation of raw agri- produce across the globe. This demands efficient materials and technologies for storage and package. We work on smart materials for packaging and transport of perishables like fruits and vegetable.
Agritech research area is interdisciplinary. The focus is on the use of novel technologies and products for better yield and enhanced quality of certain agriculture produce, thereby increasing the profitability of farmers and health of the consumers.

Sericulture Research

Sericulture or silkworm farming is another focus of our research. Our objective is to explore development of commercial byproducts from silkworm farming to enhance the income of the farmers and develop innovative products useful in cosmetics, healthcare and other practical applications.
